What do we do?
Research in Design..
We study costume design considering fashion as a contemporary work of art, where cognitive attributes are given to clothing in a way that garments become trully significant second-skins, thus valuing the emotional realm that involves the communication that is established between a performer and his/her audience. We highlight the spectator's perception and fruition in that matter, therefore, the performance's action field framework, through its conceptual premises and direct relationship to costumes and all elements from the mise-èn-scene, is also considered for the creation of a so needed transparent dialogue between participants.
Participatory Design...
We develop design projects, in collaboration with entities from the performative arts' field, where costumes are meant to gain the role of narrative and of construction of characters. We stress the performer's participatory design in the design process of prototypes, in order to achieve costumes of somatic characteristics.
Innovation and Technology...
In the field of Emotional Design, we research on the potentialities of the new functional textile technologies that might contribute for a better interpretation of characters by the performers, as well as its reading by the audiences.
